Lend A Hand: The Lighthouse Drop-In Centre

Back in 2004, I used to help out at the Lighthouse Drop-In Centre twice a week, serving dinner to the homeless and under-priviledged. Volunteers at the soup kitchen took turns to cook for the 50-60 odd people who visits the centre for possibly their only hot meal for the day. The Lighthouse also provides many other facilities for the homeless such as medical assistance, cleaning and bathing as well as counselling.

Anyway, while I’ve not been able to spend the time to go help out since, I have managed to visit the centre every so often to hand in donations and other contributions. Today was such a day. Mum and I paid the centre a visit to drop off some old clothes and a donation for the centre to buy provisions to cook the daily meals. We were glad to see that someone had donated a brand new kitchen for them. God bless the samaritan whoever they may be. The centre however is always in need of support and donations to carry on, so I am taking this opportunity to pass this message on to you. Please lend a helping hand in cash or kind to:
