Yay! I have found a new favourite place for BBQ’d pork ribs — Summer Garden @ Tanjung Bungah, Penang.
The restaurant doesn’t appear to have a nice big signboard for you to identify the place with, but you can recognise it by its posh, modern look and abundant greenery. It’s located along the Vale of Tempe, at the junction to TAR college I believe.
Their menu leans towards Western-Japanese fare and just a little bit upmarket (but still reasonable and worth it!). Having had cream of carrot soup recently and liked it, we decided to give the one here a try as well. It wasn’t as expected though, tasting a bit too tomato-ey for our liking. The mushroom soup however was superb!
For our mains, we shared the BBQ’d Pork Ribs and a Summer Sandwich. Thumbs up for both, especially the tasty, tender ribs. We also ordered a drink called Snow White, which was milk with honey and egg. It was… interesting

, but not something we would try again though. Heh. Overall, the food were well presented and the portions just nice to leave you filled and satisfied!
